Send a few photos from different angles and our artist rebuilds your cat’s head and shoulders in wool, needle by needle — the eyes, the tabby striping, the fold of the ears, the whiskers set one at a time. It is not a plush toy. It is a portrait you can hold.

Cat markings are the hard part and they are the point: silver tipping, a ginger’s ring pattern, the smoke under a long coat, the exact line where a white bib ends. British Shorthairs, Scottish Folds, Maine Coons, Persians, Ragdolls, tabbies and plain beloved moggies are all worked the same way — from your photos, not from a template.

How it is made

Raw wool is barbed into shape by hand with a felting needle — no printing, no moulds, no AI image generation. Colour is built up in layers rather than painted on, which is why markings, shading and the direction a coat grows can all be matched to your photos. A single portrait takes days of work at the bench.

About the frame

The frame is not a selectable option — our artist picks the frame that best suits your pet’s colouring and size from the styles in stock. The framed examples in the photos show the range.

What photos to send

Wool is three-dimensional, so we need to see them from more than the front. Send 3–6 photos if you have them:

• Face straight on, at eye level
• Left and right side of the head
• A close-up of the eyes and nose
• One full-body photo in daylight, for true fur colour

Sharp, well-lit phone photos are perfect. One clear photo where you can see the eyes will always do more than several distant or blurry ones.

We look at every photo before work begins. If we need another angle to get their face right, we will write to you and ask — we would rather delay a few days than make something that does not look like your pet. If they are gone and you only have a few photos, send what you have. We will tell you honestly whether it is enough to get their face right before we start.

How it works

1. Upload your photos above and tell us your pet’s name. If some will not fit, reply to your order confirmation email with them.
2. We confirm your estimated completion date after you order.
3. We send you a progress photo before the final details go on.
4. Finished by hand, packed and shipped.

About the wait

Please allow 2–6 months. This is a long time and we would rather say so plainly than surprise you later. Each portrait is made one at a time by one pair of hands. If you are working to a date, write to us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it can be met.

If you are ordering after a loss

Many of these are made for pets who are already gone. You do not need to explain anything when you order — just the photos and the name.

Why more than one photo?

A front photo does not show the side of the ears, the shape of the muzzle or the markings on the back of the head. Those are what make the wool look like them, not just like their breed.

Handmade, so not identical

Every portrait is worked by hand from natural wool. The piece you receive will have small variations from the examples shown. That is the nature of the material and the method.
